Muggy

Can't stop jamming White Antelope. Bad name, but so good. Robin Pecknold's solo project. Might as well be Fleet Foxes B-sides. But he just put up 4 songs on his site for free.

Brazil-SaoPaulo2
-Didn't take this picture but it's pretty sweet. Sao Paulo is apparently the 7th largest metropolitan area in the world. And the largest city proper, in the Western World! Definitely felt that way.

-Kinda weird posting a picture of myself, but my friend Billy Grubbs took it and he's a good dude and good photographer so I figured I would.

Miss that lady and being home during this time of year! It always rules traveling over seas and playing, but I'm always ready to come home. 6 days. Also, got 10 rough mixes of our album. I'm so stoked and thankful that we got to do this album with Brendan. Such a difference.

On a good day

Robin Pecknold - singer of Fleet Foxes, 23 years old (my age) covering a Joanna Newsom song. Dudes like this make me think my musical endeavors are laughable. Ha. I need a new Fleet Foxes record.
I'm in Sao Paulo, Brazil right now. It's awesome so far! A mix of Australia and Singapore. Hot, humid and feels very far from home. This is going to be a good week of shows. I'm stoked to be here. Then home to
the lady, celebrate our year of hanging legally, (time goes by so quickly) then Easter, then back to Nashville to finish a record. This is a good time of year. I love spring.

It's your show bear

My pops gave Parker a Pentax 35mm camera, Parker thought it was broken, I took it, I used a role, not a single picture turned out, I thought it really was broken, almost never used again. Convinced that I wound the film wrong, I decided to give it a second chance. Dang am I glad I did. Some of my favorite pictures I've ever taken of Angela were on this role.

Succeed or fail with this album, knowing that we all made an album we're proud of will be satisfying enough. We're all here for a reason, and no matter what, God knows what's up. It's peaceful. And honestly, if Angela, my brothers and the rest of my family like this album, and are proud of me, than that's all that matters to me anyway. I think that's a good thing?

By the way, Nashvilles dece. It's been dang cold though. I do miss Angela a lot though! I got used to being home for 3 months. I'll be home soon.

Tonight's our last show of our over seas tour. It's been a good one. A little on the busy side, but I'm down with playing a lot of shows in a little amount of time. That way we can get home as soon as possible. I just did the math last night, and we'll have flown 16 times in 2 and half weeks. That's the most I've ever flown in one trip. I watched a hell of a lot of movies. Ha. Most of which I would never spend money, or time on. But I figured "hey, why not watch Ghost of Girlfriends Past? McConaughey rules right?" Most will disagree.. as they probably should. Ha. The good ones that I did watch are as follows: 5 Minutes of Heaven, Peter's Friends, State of Play (even though Ben Affleck sucks like its his job, Russell Crowe is always good) I also read almost all of Fellowship of the Ring, which I will finish on the flight home. So over all, I felt productive for the most part. I am ready to come though. I miss the mrs, a lot.

Alright time to go play Gotham City.

Been jamming this record. The percussion in this song is so good!

Australia

we had 2 shows in Melbourne (both ruled by the way) I saw this on our day off.
I'm not normally a big Tarantino fan, but this was an amazing movie. Tons of great
dialog, great cinemaphotopraphy, great music, incredible acting!! I loved it. Brad pitt is the man. (for some reason I put the Spanish movie poster. ha it's what I found first)

kind of ironic that this is my favorite movie of all time, and hadn't read the books.
Needless to say, I'm reading it now and it's unbelievable. I just finished The Hobbit right
before this and it was amazing as well.

Tonight we play sydney. Been sold out for over a month. Should be awesome!
Tomorrow we fly to Singapore to play a festival called Bay Beats, put on by the government.
Singapore is the land of no spitting or chewing gum. In which if the authorities catch
you doing so, will cain you. But apparently prostitution is not near as dirty or gross to them.
Not really of a fan of Singapore. Then we play in Tokyo, then fly home. This tour has ruled!
The Academy Is, are all classy legit dudes. It's been fun! But, I am very ready to come home to the Mrs, Tampa, my bed, my home, the man cave, bubble bobble, and all my family. We also just decided to take off, from when we get home on the 2nd, to late October to write our next record. I'm so stoked about being home for the beginning of fall. It's been a good solid 4 years since I've been home at all in October. And that's the perfect time to write.

I was going to post a song, but this internet is sucking and it would take hours. So nevermind, goodnight
east coast. See you soon.

Over seas

Auckland, New Zealand. It's amazing. New Zealand is really one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. No wonder Peter Jackson picked this place. When you're driving through the country it feels like middle earth. And the city of Auckland feels a little bit like Seattle. So really, it's the best place ever. The Mrs and I will come here one day. Actually, Angela, lets skip out on Venice and come here and stay in Hobbiton. Down? Cool. We played last night and it ruled! This morning I woke up and walked around the city. I found a legit coffee shop and got a cappuccino and an omelet. I need to remember that over seas, "bacon" translates to "ham that's greasy and as tough as a baseball glove" ha. Either way, it was still good. My goal over seas is to not go to Starbucks. There's way better local coffee shops that I would rather find. And by the way, it's fall here. It's throwing me off a little bit. I keep picturing everyone at home setting up fall stuff and carving pumpkins. Not yet, but soon enough. And Angela informed me that it's officially getting dryer out. So that's good.

There's this site that I read that I got this idea from, but I took a picture of all the stuff I carry in my bag to show what I'm doing right now. It probably won't change much over the next couple weeks. I don't exactly carry the wine in my bag, but our label here had it in my room with my name on it when I checked in the other night, so I put it in the picture.

I've been listening to this band a ton - The Dodos. The whole record rules. It's called Vister. Get on it!

In other news, I miss my wife. I got used to being home with her, waking up next to her, falling asleep next to her. It's always strange waking up the first night I'm gone, hugging my pillow and asking it if it slept well. Ha. I'm stoked this trip is only 2 weeks.
